Description:L-FABP,Human,mAbL2B10,biotinylated
ThebiotinylatedmonoclonalantibodyL2B10recognizeshumanliverfattyacidbindingprotein(L-FABP)ofbothnaturalandrecombinantorigin.TheL-FABPproteinisderivedfromthehumanFABP1gene.FABPsaresmallintracellularproteins(~13-14kDa)withahighdegreeoftissuespecificitythatbindlongchainfattyacids.Theyareabundantlypresentinvariouscelltypesandplayanimportantroleintheintracellularutilizationoffattyacids,transportandmetabolism.ThereareatleastninedistincttypesofFABP,eachshowingaspecificpatternoftissueexpression.Duetoitssmallsize,FABPleaksrapidlyoutofischemicallydamagednecroticcellsleADIngtoariseinserumlevels.Ischemicallydamagedtissuesarecharacterizedhistologicallybyabsence(orlowpresence)ofFABPfacilitatingrecognitionofsuchareas.L-FABPislocalizedintheliver,kidneyandintestinalepithelium.ThemonoclonalantibodyL2B10isusefultodetectischemicareasofhumanliver.FurThermore,theantibodycanbeusedforthepurificationofhumanL-FABP.
