Description:MCP-1,Human,mAbMNA1
MonoclonalantibodyMNA.1(formerlyknownas5D3-F7)recognizeshumannaturalandrecombinantmonocytechemotacticprotein-1(MCP-1).Monocytechemotacticprotein-1(MCP-1)isa11kDaproteinbelongingtotheCCsubgroupofthechemokinesuperfamily,whichstimulatethemigrationofmonocyticcells.Incontrast,theCXCchemokinespredominantlyactivatepolymorphonuclearleukocytes.ThecoordinatedsynthesisandreleaseofMCP-1playsacentralroleinbothacuteandchronicinflammatoryprocessesbycontrollingtheinfluxofphagocyticcells.FurThermore,theirstateofactivationisinconcertwithprimaryinflammatorycytokines,suchasIL-1,TNF-a,andIL-6.AselectiveaccumulationofMCP-1inthecerebrospinalfluid(CSF)ofAIDSpatientswithcytomegalovirusencephalitis,butnotwithotheropportuNISTicinfectionsorprimarylymphomasofthecentralnervoussystem,hasbeendescribed.Furthermore,thechemotacticactivityofMCP-1onmonocyticcellshasbeensuggestedtoplayaroleinpsoriasis,rheumatoidarthritisandatherosclerosis.Nocross-reactivityofmAbMNA.1withothercytokineshasbeendetected.
