ThemonoclonalantibodyER-MP58recognizesanantigenpresentonallmousemacrophagecolonystimulatingfactor(M-CSF)responsivecellsinthebonemarrow,includingtheearliestcolony-formingmyeloidProgenitors,aswellasbythemajorityofothermyeloidprecursors.Theantigenisdetectedonabroaddevelopmentrangeofmacrophageprecursorcellstothemonocyticlevel,butalsoongranulocytes.Expressionisrapidlylostuponmaturationbeyondthemonocyticstage.Theantigendisappearsinthecourseofmacrophagedifferentiation.FurThermoretheantigenisclearlydifferentfromcommonlyusedmyeloidMarkersasMac-1,F4/80,andGr-1.ThemonoclonalantibodyER-MP58isveryusefulfortheidentificationofmousemyeloidhematopoieticislandsinvariousorgans,andforembryonicstudies.CellscommittedtothemyeloidlineagecanbeseparatedfromprogenitorcellswithotherdifferentiationcapacitiesbymeansofmultiparametercellsortingusingmonoclonalantibodyER-MP58incombinationwithmonoclonalantibodyER-MP12(HM1084)andER-MP-20(HM1082).
