Description:MCP-1,Mouse,mAbECE.2,biotinylated
ThemonoclonalantibodyECE.2recognizesmousemonocytechemoattractantprotein1(MCP-1).ThemurineJEgeneencodesthemonocyte-specificcytokinemonocytechemotacticprotein1(MCP-1).MCP-1isaCCchemokineof76aminoacids(~11kDa)andischemotacticformonocytesandbasophilsbutnotneutrophilsandeosinophils.MCP-1isexpressedbysmoothmusclecells(SMC),macrophages,endothelialcells,keratinocytesandfibroblastsinresponsetoinflammatorystimulisuchasinterleukin1βandtumornecrosisfactorα.MCP-1hasbeenimplicatedinavarietyofinflammatoryprocesses,includinginflammatoryboweldisease,rheumatoidarthritis,asthma,nephritis,andparasiticandviralinfections.MCP-1antigenisnotdetectedintheendotheliumorSMCofnormalarteries.MCP-1hasalsobeenshowntoexhibitBIOLOGicalactivitiesotherthanchemotaxis.ItcaninducetheproliferationandactivationofkillercellsknownasCHAK(CC-Chemokine-activatedkiller)MCP-1signalsviatheCCR2receptor,andiscriticalforaneurysmformationbecauseofitsstABIlitytorecruitleukocytes.Theseleukocytesproduceextracellularmatrix-degrADIngMMPs,therebyinductinaorticremodellinganddilatation.Interleukin-6isalsoinvolvedinthisamplificationloopacceleratingvascularinflammation.MCP-/-micedisplaysignificantlydelayedwoundre-epithelialization,andalsodelayedwoundangiogenesis.
